Anti-bullying
Bullying is not tolerated in any form at St Mary Magdalene Academy. Cases of bullying are rare; they are dealt with swiftly and decisively.
Our high expectations of the pupils’ conduct towards one another are made clear through the Anti-Bullying Pledge that all pupils sign in their planners at the beginning of each academic year, following having been taught about our expectations by their Academy guardians. The Anti-Bullying Pledge also teaches the pupils about the fundamental importance of informing Academy staff through a means with which they feel comfortable.
In addition to reporting a concern to their Head of Year or Academy Guardian verbally, pupils’ concerns can be sent on our Report bullying page. Reports go directly to a senior member of staff who will deal with the issue sensitively and effectively.
