GCSE Results 2024

This year’s GCSE results are another set of fantastic outcomes for the pupils of St Mary Magdalene Academy.

Over 40% of all grades were 7 and above, an incredible achievement that will allow pupils to study Key Stage 5 courses with demanding entrance criteria.

66% have secured the challenging 5+ grade in English and Maths and a phenomenal 80% of pupils have achieved the benchmark 4+ (the old C grade) in both subjects.

Across the other curriculum areas, there are some excellent results for subjects: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, German, Italian, Latin, Mandarin, PE and Physics had 100% of their grades at 4-9, and in all of these subjects and French, over 60% of pupils achieved grade 7 (the old A grade) or above.

There were so many individual successes that we have selected just a few to highlight: Onurcan, Alan, Jamie, Melody, Signe, Dylan, Ava and Alexandra all got 6 or more Grade 9s across their subjects and Benjamin, Elya, Maryam, Maya and Nicholas all received the coveted “9 at 9”.

Head of secondary, John Reardon says

“the class of 2024 have done tremendously well and we are extremely proud of their achievements.

These results only come with an incredible amount of hard work. This year group put in the hours with early morning study, extra sessions after school and a great work ethic throughout. That kind of commitment pays off when the results come in august.

We are very excited to see what the future holds for this talented group of pupils.”
