Guy Brougham

guy broughamDirector of Learning: Communication

Guy joined the leadership team of the Academy in April 2007, having previously worked as curriculum team leader of performing arts and director of the specialist school at Park View Academy School in Tottenham. During his time there his teaching, leadership and management received outstanding feedback from Ofsted and HMI.

As well as his excellent curricular-based achievements, Guy was the artistic director for six whole school productions, including West Side Story, Guys and Dolls and most recently Macbeth in the National Theatre’s Shakespeare Schools Festival.

Guy’s thoughts on his role: “I am extremely excited about this post. The opportunity to start with a blank page, and to use the staff’s wealth of experience to fill this page is unique in education. I am looking forward to being a fundamental part of this process, to be innovative and to implement new ideas such as learning to learn, home base learning and vertical ‘family’ groups.

To be able to work with state of the art facilities and produce shows and performances of the highest quality, and to build the stars of the future, is a mouth-watering proposition, and I can’t wait to tuck in!”

Guy takes on the role of Director of Learning for Communication (English, performing arts, and languages) and will also lead the whole school developments in inclusion at the Academy.
