Year 13 Easter break

28 March 2018

Dear Parent/Carer

Please see the timetable for the PPE (pre public exams) that your child will be sitting in the first week back after the Easter break.

All students who attended the assembly this week have been given a paper copy of this timetable, as well as a skeleton timetable to help them plan their Easter break effectively.

It is important to make sure that your child has allocated enough time for revision over the break, we have suggested that this be at least 5 hours each day. It is also important that your child allocates “down time” for them to recover from such an intense workload.

As we return form the Easter break, we are left with 4 school weeks before the first AS Level exams, and 6 school weeks before the first A Level exams.

Attendance needs to be maintained at a high level as we enter the last stretch before exams. Students will be taking part in focused intervention in their relevant subjects to ensure they meet their potential. If attendance falls below the expectation, I will be in contact with you to discuss our concerns.

For students who have completed a coursework element for their subjects, please see the guidance below for information regarding reviews:

All students will be informed of their controlled assessment marks and receive a copy of their controlled assessment marking and assessment criteria by 19 April. Students have the right to make a written request for this marking to be reviewed by 26 April. Any written request must provide reasons why the marks awarded do not comply with the assessment criteria and handed to Mr Goward in the Curriculum Office.

Please can I take this opportunity to wish you a happy Easter break, and if you have any questions, or wish to discuss anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully

Mr Shabaz Sayed
