The Academy’s annual Ski Trip is currently being organised for February Half Term 2017. The Ski trip will not only provide the opportunity to learn and enjoy a thrilling sport, but also see a beautiful aspect of a foreign country. At present, this venture is being offered to pupils in all year groups. See the poster for the trip here.
The trip will be to Dachstein West ski resort and the journey will be made by coach. To reduce the cost of the trip we have opted to make the resort booking much earlier than usual. This means we have a pick of the resort we wish to visit and making payments over a longer period much more manageable.
The cost of the trip will cover accommodation with full board, 4 hours ski instruction per day (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours during the afternoon) and evening entertainment (which is likely to include swimming, bowling, disco and a pizza night). In addition to this, the hire of skis and boots, insurance and lift pass will also be covered in the price. The Academy will provide fully qualified supervisory staff to oversee all aspects of the trip. The trip will cater for skiers of all abilities. However ski clothing will be needed, and we will send out information of what clothing is required.
The price of the trip will be £800. There are a limited number of places, and only pupils with exemplary behavioural records will be considered. We will use a first come first served basis, and due to the success of last year’s trip we expect a high volume of interest. Payments can be made by instalments, starting with an initial deposit of £200, and then following a regular payment schedule using Parent Pay (information on how to use this method of payment will be sent after completion of the slip below).
It should be emphasised at this early stage that the trip is intended as an ‘activity course’ and all pupils will be expected to conform to normal behaviour expectations both prior to the trip as well as during it. Further information about the trip will be provided after an initial survey of interest. If you are interested in your son/daughter taking part in this trip, please complete the return the reply slip to Mr Oldridge as soon as possible to secure your child’s place.
This slip does not guarantee a place on the trip and additional information will be sent to you in due course, if you show interest. We must stress that we have a limited number of places and therefore urge you to act as soon as possible if you want to be able to take advantage of this offer. Pupils must have a valid UK passport or visa to travel before the deposit is paid.
If you have any questions regarding this venture, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
