Victoria Linsley, Headteacher of the Secondary School, writes:

I am delighted to announce that our Sixth Form students have achieved a fantastic set of final results. Incredibly, we have once again exceeded our previous year’s outcomes.

A Level

Percentage A* - A: 35% (2016 National 25.9%)
Percentage A* - B: 65% (2016 National 52.8%)
Percentage A* - C: 85% (2016 National 77.3%)

This year’s university destinations include Oxford, Cambridge and the medical schools at Imperial and Sussex, as well as a total of 43% students off to Russell Group Unis.

In addition, one student takes up a full scholarship at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and another at Sciences Po in France.

There were exceptional performances across ‘facilitating subjects’ (the subjects held in the highest regard by the top universities), particularly English literature, languages, physics and mathematics.

These are exceptionally strong results, reflecting consistent hard work by students and the unstinting support of teachers and parents throughout their challenging two-year courses.

This year group acted as superb role models for both Year 12 and our younger pupils, and I hope these outcomes will inspire them to work hard and be as aspirational as the class of 2017.

Congratulations, Year 13. We wish you every success and happiness in your future education and careers.
