(T) Also on the Trust Governing Body
Governance of the Academy has changed in response to the demands of the growing range of provisions developed under the banner of St Mary Magdalene Academy, and to allow for continued growth in the future.
In simple terms, there is an overarching Trust (St Mary Magdalene Education Partnership) which holds together and co-ordinates the cooperation between St Mary Magdalene Academy (the original company) and St Mary Magdalene Academy: The Courtyard (the newest company set up to run our special school).
The Trust supervises all core functions (finance, human resources, premises, compliance and risk) for all the companies. The board is informed by the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and two sub-committees:
• Finance, Premises and Personnel
The Governing Bodies of both St Mary Magdalene Academy and The Courtyard are represented on the Trust.
The St Mary Magdalene Academy Governing Body supervises the work of the Primary School and the Secondary School. The Governing Body is informed by the Headteacher of the Primary School, the Headteacher of the Secondary School, and two sub-committees:
• Curriculum and Standards
• Student Welfare and Community Relations
The Governing Body appoints to and services the statutory committees:
• Staff Discipline
• Pupil Discipline
• Independent Review Panel
