May is Technology Month

4 May 2017

All this month, we’re going to town on technology, with a dizzying array of digital tech events. We’ll be designing robots, simulating bomb disposal, unlocking the potential of big data, and viewing the world through virtual reality headsets. And plenty more besides.

There’s no special qualification to join in and you don’t need to have taken the aptitude test. Like most of our Inspire events, all you need to do is apply. For sign up details, just keep a keen eye on our newsletter, on our Facebook page, and on the Inspire noticeboard outside the Curriculum Office. Then be quick! Highlights already confirmed include:

Catch the Robots Bug – until 26 May

Take part in our robotics competition in association with the Science Museum and Royal Commission 1851, and with the help of top roboticists from NASA and Oxford University. From self-driving cars to helicopters that can fly on Mars, we’ll be discovering why robots are exciting, why they’re important – and why YOU are important to robots. To sign up, speak to Science Club.

The first of our popular digital days, taking place here in school, features bomb disposal simulation, the chance to try out oculus rift and activities unlocking the potential of data.
