Our school is buzzing with special guests this term: from the Deloitte volunteers who led Year 9’s Globalisation Day, to the expert speakers delivering masterclasses in our INSPIRE programme.
We have many guests visiting from overseas too. This month alone, we welcome groups of students from Indonesia, Thailand and China, and teachers from Kazakhstan. Spending time with these visitors gives our pupils a fantastic chance to see the world from different global viewpoints.
To encourage pupils to engage with the visitors, we recently relaunched our International Ambassadors programme. Pupils who become Ambassadors get to befriend our international guests, to experience new cultures and to learn phrases of a new language.
If you become an Ambassador, you can earn valuable rewards too. It’s a great start on the path to becoming a Prefect. It gives an extra stamp in your Global Passport, and is an impressive addition to your CV.
And every time you’re partnered with an international guest, you have the chance to win a £10 reward. On your third partner, you’ll earn a Silver Ambassador badge and the chance to win lunch. And on your sixth partner, you’ll earn a Gold badge – and may even win an iPad Air!
