Year 13 students showcase their work at the open event

From fishing to forensics!

24 May 2018

This month, our Year 13 students presented their EPQ projects to staff and peers at an open event in the Lecture Theatre. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is defined as ‘a single piece of work requiring a high degree of planning, preparation, research and autonomous working’ and counts as half an A Level.

At the end of the project, the Year 13 students showcased their work and answered questions from an interested crowd, while being assessed by Mr Sumner and Ms Vesey.

Each student is free to choose their own topic, and must demonstrate that their subject is academically useful – either related to their current course of study or their future career.

Mr Sumner says ‘What a brilliantly diverse and fascinating year – the subjects ranged from a book on fishing techniques to the recreation of a crime scene with life size dummies!’
