I am writing with news of significant changes at a senior level at St Mary Magdalene Academy with effect from September.
In the Primary School both the Headteacher (Ms Parke) and the Deputy Headteacher (Ms Rowe) are moving on. I am delighted to report that we have appointed Ms Luzmore (currently Deputy Head at Clerkenwell Parochial School) as our new Headteacher and Mr Standing will become a teaching Deputy Head continuing to lead the work with Year 6 but with release to allow him to pursue his whole school responsibilities.
In the Secondary School Mr Hadley (currently Acting Headteacher) has been appointed Head of Gipsy Hill School and Ms Farrugia (currently Director of Access & Inclusion) has been appointed Vice Principal of St Mary & St John School in Hendon. Ms Linsley will return in September as Head of the Secondary School and no decisions have been taken as yet about direct replacements for the two staff leaving. This will provide the Governors and Ms Linsley with the opportunity to look at the balance and function of Senior Leaders in the Secondary School, going forward.
All four leavers have been wonderful servants to the Academy: each in their own way making significant contributions to the outstanding performance of St Mary Magdalene Academy. They will be missed by colleagues, pupils, parents and governors all of whom have valued their dedication, professionalism and commitment in creating the great community in which we work and study.
