Year 4 Tower of London visit

25 June 2018

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 4 Tower of London visit 9 July 2018

The class will be visiting the Tower of London to participate in a workshop in which children will learn about the many lives (and deaths) of Henry VIII’s wives as well as having a chance to look around the Tower which was scene to many infamous moments in history. This will inform the term’s work about how the past has impacted our life today.

We will leave the Academy at 9.50 and take the Overground from Highbury & Islington to Whitechapel and then District line to Tower Hill. Our return journey should bring us back to school by 3:30pm.

Some of the session will be outside, so please ensure your child has weather appropriate clothing and sensible walking shoes as well as a packed lunch to enjoy. As we are a school party, the cost of entrance to the tower plus the workshop is subsidised, with the cost to parents being £6.95.via ParentPay.

We are also looking for 4 parent helpers to accompany us on the trip. If you are available and would like to volunteer to help us on this trip, please indicate in the permission slip below.

The Tower of London pay for 2 adults to go on the trip so if more adults would like to accompany us, there will be an extra charge of £22.00. Please see Donna at the office for more details. Helpers will be based on the reply slip being returned first.

Yours faithfully
