1 March 2017
As part of our current Unit of Inquiry exploring how light is a form of energy that is part of our everyday life, we will be visiting The Science Museum in South Kensington on Thursday 9 March.
During the visit the children will be able to deepen their understanding of light through the opportunity to explore the Museum and visit an exciting show about Explosions and then explore the Museum’s new Wonderlab to ignite their curiosity in science through more than 50 cutting exhibits and immersive experiences, for example live lightning demos! The gallery will enrich the children’s learning across the curriculum and the exhibits will encourage them to be curious and creative and to look in close detail - skills that are invaluable to scientists.
Please ensure your child comes to school on this day with a packed lunch, preferably in a disposable or small re-usable bag. Remember no glass bottles, cans, fizzy drinks, crisps, sweets, chocolate bars or nut products please. If your child receives free school meals and you would like a school packed lunch, please indicate below.
We will be taking the underground to the museum and plan to leave the Academy at approximately 9.30am and we will arrive back at the Academy by the end of the school day. Your child will need to wear Academy uniform and please ensure that they have suitable clothes for the weather on the day (waterproof if it is wet).
If you would like to come and help with the trip please indicate on the permission slip below.
