This term, Year 2’s central idea is: ‘Understanding the physical laws of forces and that motion helps us to use them in different ways.’
On Friday 16 January, we went on an exciting trip to the Museum of Childhood to investigate forces in action. During our workshop we discovered how different toys use different forces to move.
We saw a Jack in Box, a spinning top, lots of cars and a dancing robot! The teacher at the museum was very impressed with our scientific vocabulary.
After a delicious lunch, we had time to explore the museum further. Some of our highlights were the moving rocking horses, the sand pit and the beautiful dolls’ houses – we even got to go inside some of the rooms!
It was a fantastic trip and we are enjoying testing out what we learnt about forces back at school.
