Summer Term swimming lessons for Year 3

28 March 2017

Dear Parents/Carers

Year 3 will be going to Highbury Swimming Pool for swimming lessons every Tuesday at 2.00pm starting on Tuesday 25 April. The following are some guidelines to help you.

• All children need to wear a swimming hat.

• No baggy trunks or shorts with pockets.

• No bikinis.

• Verruca socks must be worn if a child has a verruca.

• Goggles may be worn with written permission. Please complete the attached form if your child needs to wear goggles.

• Children with asthma must take pumps with them to the side of the pool.

• No jewellery.

Please see Donna if you can help accompany us walking to and from the swimming.  We leave the Academy at 2.00pm and arrive back at 3.30 – 3.40pm. Parent helpers will not be allowed into the changing rooms with the children unless they have had an enhanced DBS or are registered with the DBS update system, but may stay to watch the lesson. If you wish to receive enhanced DBS clearance as a volunteer, please contact Donna if you will be a regular helper.

If a child is well enough to be in school, except for exceptional circumstances, they are usually well enough to attend swimming lessons. Please send a note into school if there is a particular reason why they cannot attend swimming.

Yours faithfully
