Guardian newspaper – fact or fiction?

Dear Parent/Carer

In advanced preparation for our unit on the media, Year 6 will be visiting The Guardian newspaper in Kings Place to look at the facts and fiction behind newspaper stories on Thursday 30 November.

During the visit the children will be involved in a workshop that looks at the fact and fiction in newspaper articles and how to distinguish between the two.

This is a great opportunity for the children to experience the workings of a national newspaper and develop their understanding of the media.

Please ensure your child comes to school on this day with a packed lunch.

We will be walking to Kings Place. We plan to leave the Academy at approximately 9.30am and will return by the end of the school day. If you would be available to accompany us on the trip please indicate this on the permission slip below.
