Year 5 Bank of England Museum
17 January 2012
Dear Parent/Carer
As part of this term’s unit of inquiry: Individuals and groups affect the economic decisions of others, we will be visiting the Bank of England Museum on Monday 30 January.
The Bank of England Museum tells the story of the Bank of England from its foundation in 1694 to its role today as the United Kingdom’s central bank. A number of interesting and interactive displays include material drawn from the Bank’s own collections of books, documents, silver, prints, paintings, banknotes, coins and photographs. The children will also be able to see a display of gold, including Roman and modern gold bars alongside pikes and muskets once used to defend the Bank! Computer technology and audio visual displays explain the Bank’s present day role.
We will be at the museum during lunchtime so please provide your child with a packed lunch. If your child receives free school meals and you would like an Academy packed lunch, please indicate below.
We will be travelling by tube from Caledonian Road. We plan to leave the Academy at 9.30am and will return before 3.30pm.
If you would be available to accompany us on the trip please indicate this on the permission slip below.
Thank you very much.
Sarah Rowe
Please return to Donna Edmead, Primary office
