Humanities and global citizenship... in the local community

Global citizenship is our specialism, but as well as developing relationships with partners overseas, we think that being involved in our local community is vitally important too.

On this page, you can find out about some of the local organisations with whom we engage, sharing our fantastic facilities, but also sharing our best resource of all: our students.

Drovers and Sotheby Day Centres – Members of the Sixth Form visit regularly and this year organised a Christmas party.

St Mary Magdalene Centre – for refugees and asylum seekers (pictured above). The Academy donates food to the centre at harvest and throughout the year.

Disability and Development Partners – The Academy is linked with the Kiran Centre in India.

St Mary Magdalene Church – Each term, students from the Academy attend a church service at our partner church.

St Lukes West Holloway – Members of the congregation at St Luke’s serve on the governing body.

Colourstrings – Colourstrings is an integrated approach to music education for young children, developed by the Hungarian-born violinist and pedagogue Dr Géza Szilvay. Classes are held at the Academy on a Saturday.

Eclectic Voices – A north London choir for open minded singers of any background performs regularly at the Academy.

Five a side football – Members of St Mary’s and Luke’s play weekly in the sports hall: new members always welcome.
