andrew caspariWhat type of governor are you? Support Staff Governor.

Why are you a governor of St Mary Magdalene Academy? As a member of staff, I get to see how the Academy is running on a day-to-day basis. I wanted to be on the governing body to develop a bigger picture of how the school runs and also be able to make positive contributions and suggestions on how the Academy can move forward.

Which subject at school did you love best – and why? My favourite subject has got to be maths, because I love challenges and I never give up until I have solved the problem.

What’s your favourite book of all time? My favourite book would probably be The BFG – The Big Friendly Giant, by Roald Dahl. I can remember this being my first book I read as a child.

Who was your most memorable / inspiring teacher at school? My most memorable teacher was Mrs Simpson, my maths teacher, who was always pushing us to do more than we thought we could.

What’s your favourite: chocolate or ice cream? Any chocolate containing hazelnuts.

What are your hopes for St Mary Magdalene Academy? My hopes for the Academy are that every person will have the opportunity to do the very best that they can and be able to show off their talents in the most exciting and positive way.
