What type of governor are you? Parent governor.
Why are you a governor of St Mary Magdalene Academy? I hope to increase the opportunities for Academy parents to get involved in the Academy.
Which subject at school did you love best and why? I always loved maths. I enjoyed the logic and beauty of it. Languages come a close second.
What’s your favourite book of all time? There are many strong contenders, but none outshines Emma by Jane Austen: I have read it many times and I will definitely read it again.
Who was your most memorable / inspiring teacher at school? My history teacher in year 8 or 9, Mrs Rump. I will never forget her marching through the classroom and singing the Marseillaise when we studied the French Revolution.
What’s your favourite: chocolate or ice cream? I love sweet ginger coated in chocolate. As for ice cream, nothing beats a two-scoop combination of pistachio and raspberry!
What are your hopes for St Mary Magdalene Academy? I hope that a strong partnership between the school and the parents will help the children of all ages attending the Academy to achieve their full potential.
