Early Years
The Early Years Centre is led by Dawn Hussey, the Centre Manager, and Sue Cooke, the Deputy Manager.
Formerly known as Rosedale Early Years Centre, it is now under the management of St Mary Magdalene Academy and has received an Outstanding judgment from Ofsted.
There are currently 53 places for children aged from six months to five years. The accommodation is purpose built and divided by age group into three rooms.
Room 1 – nine children aged from six months to two years, cared for by three early years practitioners
Room 2 – twelve children aged between two and three years and cared for by three early years practitioners
Room 3 – thirty-two children aged from three to five and cared for by one full time teacher and three early years practitioners
Three early years support workers and one SEN support worker offer support across all the rooms.
All the children are given the highest level of care and personal support. Each room has a range of appropriate activities, toys and books to support learning through structured and child-initiated play.
We work in partnership with parents to nurture and support each child according to their needs. Profile books record through image and words individuals learning and development in the early years.
