The Academy parliament is being relaunched this year with ambitious aims to become truly representative of the student voice.

Guardian groups are currently electing members of parliament who will represent them at half-termly meetings. MPs will vote electronically on issues that are decided by the student voice and there will be a regular contact between the Academy’s senior management and school governors. The cabinet will be elected shortly and they will be responsible for carrying out the decisions of the parliament.

We have plans to expand the remit of the parliament after Christmas to include a range of subcommittees that will involve our students in decisions about how to improve the Academy. Watch this space for more details from the newly-elected student voice.
