21 March 2016
This letter marks the end of the Spring term at the Courtyard. It has been a very busy term, with many achievements and awards that should be celebrated. The pupils are continuing to work hard and are making progress towards their end of year targets in all subjects.
Many of our students are now preparing themselves for exams and assessments which will take place in the summer term. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students on their efforts but also to thank my staff, many of whom are giving up their own time after school to offer extra tutoring. Please can I ask that during the Easter break, you encourage your child to complete any pieces of homework set and to continue to read regularly for pleasure.
Unfortunately I do not have good news with regards to a moving date for the school. We are still patiently waiting for news from UK Power Networks, the company who authorises and provides the power supply to all buildings in the UK. The building contractors responsible for the Courtyard build require the agreement from UKPN before they can dig the trench and provide the site with the utilities it needs. My hope is that this authorisation will come any day now so that we can confirm a moving date and begin planning the opening ceremonies. The physical building is complete and the sensory garden is being planted next week, so when we do finally have gas, electricity and water, we will be ready to move in. I will keep you updated with the progress on this.
Thursday 24 March 2016 is our last day of this spring term. School will finish at 12:30pm. If you would like your child to access a school dinner at 12:30pm, please contact the school by Wednesday. Please note that the school will reopen on Monday 11 April 2016 at the usual time of 8:30am. Referring to your child’s timetable, this will be Week A so please take note if your child requires any specific equipment on that day.
From myself and all of the staff at the Courtyard, I wish you a restful Easter break.
